I apologize if I went off track in the least, it's a tad late and I don't even know why I typed this haha.
Well, feel free to comment, as I'm sure you will. Take note, I make no mention of any religious possibilities in this musing, perhaps there truly will be a time when mankind can at least endure some period of genuine, loving, unselfish peace.

Well...I was listening to ambient trance...which generally puts me into such philosophic mindsets as these...and I couldn't help but laugh at the collective mindset of humanity as a whole.

You see...the average human no doubt feels confident about where they place in the world, what they'll accomplish, and how they feel towards most subject matter that should come across their path. But it seems that if you get enough of them in one spot, they somehow manage to abandon most all that defines them for the simple sake of fitting in with the crowd. Now, inwardly, said individual no doubt realizes that they either do or do not belong in such a gathering yet they remain, fearful of the threat of abandonment or being shunned by a collective mass. Perhaps against another individual, they would feel no reason to hide their true ideals, because they feel no threat, even more so if it's a stranger. But I digress perhaps, you see, my real thoughts were on how it seems that you can rally a great many people to your praise if you simply advocate that you will, somehow, bring about a means to create a unanimous luvvy-duvvy ideal of peace, and spread said ideal across the world, until all of the nations on this small planet somehow unite into one cause of self-improvement and caring.

But the hard fact is, is that this cause can have no hope. The very nature of mankind itself would not possibly permit such a vision. For in order for that to possibly come about, every man, woman, and child would somehow have to fall into a state of complacency of where they placed in the world, and somehow abandon all notions of improvement or advancement in a society where none could possibly lead. Because where there is a leader, there are those that wish to lead, to ascend to the same level of reverence and power as the one that all of society would love. But perhaps, as said individual advanced, he found that he no longer agreed with EVERY statement that the leader made, in fact, he felt as though a few changes could actually improve their way of life. Said idea would no doubt be spread among the masses, until they had a rather large group that agreed, but, when the leader was presented with said ideal, what if he disagreed? How can he possibly make the change when he himself disagrees with its motives? Does he refuse the change? Asserting his own ideals over the people whom he himself advocated equality? Thus he must submit, but there are sure to be others who would see this idea as wrong. And thus you have the birth of what will in the long run be a slope into factions, civil unrest, riots, wars, and thus, a division of groups...into what shall once again be countries, or settlements, or even camps.

The people of this world are to easily deluded by their wishy washy dreams of peace and tranquility. Never in the history of mankind has there been such a period, only lapses between wars, the very illusion of peace while anger and discontent silently brewed beneath the surface of what is individual improvement and thought. Until once again, there are conflicts, and weapons to end said conflicts. Torture, and kidnapping, interrogations, public displays, coups and assassinations. Our very race is destined to be locked into a never-ending cycle of passing leaders and shifting views, a constant state of hostility and war until only one can remain. And when one does remain, a dominance must be established within the whole, and once again the cycle will start. For even when there is only one nation, one leader, one cause...it will fail, as has been the history of mankind for all of history, and all of eternity.

"For as long as there are two people left on the face of this planet...somebody is going to want somebody else dead." (Ben Croshaw)
Just something I thought of one day, was pretty interesting to write it all out :D

You know what's funny? That last paragraph is the exact way that my character Marrcesh feels about humanity. Which is why he feels that he's doing the world a favor: saving it from us.
I don't think we'll ever change. It's our doom to be trapped in this cycle until we've destroyed ourselves and everything around us. Even the things we love like our friends and nature etc. Once again, great execution of thought in this piece.
